Now the troops have left Iraq: The US and Britain claim they have won the war in Iraq. So, where is the peace? The oil fields have been secured and sold off to foreign companies, but the situation for the iraqi people is still bad. Many thousands of Iraqi civilians and soldiers have been tragically killed to replace the Saddam dictatorship with a US military dictatorship.
The US and Britain’s interest in Iraq, Iran and Syria has little to do with weapons of mass destruction and more to do with their desire to access the vast oil reserves.
This war cost billions of pounds, a tiny fraction of which could have solved many of our own problems at home - especially in the light of recent events
